Brandon Brewer and Paul Bzdel

Saturday February 1st 2014 saw Professional Boxing return to Moncton with Double Jeopardy taking place at ST- Pats center in Moncton. The Show was completely sold out and what a night of action fights. In the first bout Steve Rainford proved too much for opponent Maikel Marcelo Verdicia. It started off evenly but Rainford put a quick end to the bout with a KO in the third.

The second bout was young Nathan Millier going against the more experienced Juan Sanchez of Halifax N.S. Young Millier came out strong, boxing and moving and catching Sanchez with jabs and power shots. It was all Millier until referee Paul Doiron waved it was enough with Millier winning TKO victory in the 3rd and moving up the rankings. Watch for Nathan Millier in the future.

In the co-main event of the evening Frank ( The Hammer ) White took on Sandy Pembroke for the C.P.B.C. Cruiserweight Title. For the first part of the fight Pembroke seemed to grab and hold, but in the middle rounds The Hammer started turning it up and was hitting Pembroke with body shots that made him want to take in air. Frank kept pushing and landing power punches in way of upper cuts and body shots. In the late rounds it was all Frank White and via a UN decision claimed the C.P.B.C. Cruiserweight Championship.

In the main event of the night Brandon ( L- Jack ) Brewer probably fought his toughest fight of his career against challenger Paul Bzdel. This fight was nothing short of one of the best action fights the crowd had seen in years. Both fighters went at it back and forth with flurries of punches and combinations. For 8 rounds they went at it but in the 9th round Brewer had Bzdel in some trouble as referee Hubert Earl kept a close eye.It looked like it could of been the end but Bzdel being the fighter he is found his ground and started returning punches. In the 10th and final round these two warriors showed the crowd an exciting ending to this incredible action bout. The decision came in way of a UN decision and the win going to Brandon Brewer to claim the C.P.B.C. light middleweight Championship. The crowd was left very satisfied in this awesome fight and I'm sure they look forward to seeing this type of action again soon.
